A Collection of
Useful Data

(A special collection of print documents and rare items)

A reactance chart is a quick means of determining the impedance of L and C components, very useful for RF design and calculating values of coupling capacitors to give the desired bandwidth or Q. The original chart design document by Wheeler and a more recent (1977!) version of the chart printed in the Electronics Australia 1977 collectors edition.

More Useful Information:

Copper wire winding data useful for transformer winding, Resistor, Thermistor, and voltage dependant resistor color codes and Capacitor color codes and abbreviations and Calculated resistance of series and parallel components

An ASCII table and Some transistor data and IC pinouts PCB copper trace width required for a certain current: PCB info (track widths etc.) A good rule of thumb is 1mm per amp; this allows for other heat-producing components in the vicinity or tracks on the other side.

An excel add-on to enable engineering units. From EDN, there are so many good references; two helpful ones are Thermal Design, particularly for the LED on PCBs, and Transformer Design.
